Meg Haynes becomes 2nd AFL Sydney Women’s Rising Star Nominee for the Bombers in 2016

Sydney University Bomber Meg Haynes has been awarded the AFL Sydney’s Round 5 Rising Star Nomination.

Meg, who plays on the forward flank and in the midfield, was influential in the Bombers Round 5, 47-point win over Macquarie University, collecting numerous disposals and setting up numerous goals for her teammates.

Meg becomes the second Bomber to be nominated for the award, following the nomination of Anna Johnston.

Nominated in Round 2, Anna rotates between the forward and back flanks, where she influences games with her speed and ability to win contested possessions.

Anna is no stranger to AFL, having won 4 premierships with Queenwood in the Sydney Youth Girls League.

Both Meg and Anna joined SUWAFLC at the beginning of this year, and have not looked back, quickly becoming integral parts of the undefeated Bombers outfit.

This Saturday the Bombers travel to Picken Oval in Ashbury, as they look to stretch their winning streak to 6 games.
