Promising Sydney Swans NEAFL Development Squad member Bailey Stewart has joined the Students, signing with the Club today.
A local, talented midfielder from Sydney’s western suburbs, Stewart played 18 games for the Swans NEAFL side in 2018, kicking twelve goals, including three against the Students in Round Nine.
Stewart earned a NEAFL Rising Star nomination in the previous round, following a twenty-disposal, 2-goal effort against the Brisbane Lions.
Senior Coach Tom Morrison spoke of his delight following Bailey’s commitment to the Students’ NEAFL program.
“We were really impressed with his (Bailey) football in the Swans NEAFL side, and was dominant in our match against them last season”, said Morrison.
“He has had a great impact around the ball and as a high forward over the past season with the Swans and we are excited to keep developing his attributes.”
“We look forward to working with Bailey and the squad’s other young, local talent, pushing them to play great football in the season ahead for us.”
Stewart will join his new Students’ teammates at the commencement of preseason training in the coming weeks.
