SUANFC Men’s Divisional Coaching Team for 2021

SUANFC is thrilled to announce the appointment of our Men’s Division One-Three coaches for 2021.

After a stellar Grand Final win in 2020 as Head Coach of the SUANFC Men’s Division 2 side, we are excited to announce Adam Birman will be taking the reins of the Men’s Division 1 side for 2021. Originally from Western Australia, Birman joined SUANFC in 2016 with plenty of playing experience already under his belt and jumped straight in, playing and winning his first game with SUANFC in the Men’s Division Two team. Since beginning his playing career with SUANFC, Birman was not able to secure a Grand Final win for his team as a player, going down in three Grand Final appearances. After tearing his ACL in 2019, he decided to try his hand at a flag as a coach in 2020. His clear coaching prowess shone through as he led his team to a convincing victory over North Shore in the 2020 Grand Final, finally bringing that elusive flag home! SUANFC is excited to see Birman in his new role as Men’s Division One Head Coach for 2021.

Taking over from Birman as Men’s Division Two Head Coach for 2021, we welcome Josh Cutrupi. Josh originally began his playing career with St George Dragons in 2009, however came across to SUANFC in 2010 and has since played a whopping 185 games for the club. Cutrupi is an active member of the SUANFC community, as a player, committee member and assistant coach. Adding to his impressive resume, Cutrupi also coaching AFL at school level, and has led his team to many victories. Josh has tasted victory several times, being part of Premiership winning teams in 2013, 2015 and 2020. This taste of victory is something that Cutrupi will no doubt take with him as he leads the Men’s Division Two team in 2021 and aims for back to back Premierships.

Rounding out the coaching team, SUANFC welcomes Matt Jensen to the ranks as Men’s Division Three Head Coach for 2021. Jensen has a long football history, dating all the way back to 2004 when he was selected as a participant in the Paul Kelly Cup for the best primary school age AFL players in rural NSW. Since then, Jensen has had a stellar playing and volunteering career at Wollondilly, playing over 100 games, serving on their board for three years, captaining for one year and assistant coaching for one year also. Since coming to SUANFC in 2018, Jensen has played just under 50 games for the club, across the Men’s Divisional teams, and he has captained the Men’s Division Three team for the past two years. Over the past three years since being with SUANFC, Jensen has secured himself as a familiar face around the club, helping where he can and potraying the true SUANFC club spirit. His club spirit in fact, earnt him the prestigious Ashlee Morgan Blue and Gold Award in 2020. Jensen has many years of coaching experience, having coached within schools and within several Junior clubs. While Jensen has unfortunately not achieved a premiership yet during his time at SUANFC, he is raring to go this year as he charges into the 2021 Season at the helm of the Men’s Division Three team.

SUANFC is delighted to welcome the unbeatable Men’s Divisional coaching team of Adam Birman, Josh Cutrupi and Matt Jensen, and we cannot wait to see the teams take to the field for what is set to be another thrilling season in 2021!
