U19 Div 1

U19’s Division Two; Season so far

Head Coach: Jon Dyster & Jeff Thomas

Please provide a brief summary of how your team has been performing in the first half of the season

We have been inconsistent so far this season, playing some good footy at times but not able to put 4 good quarters together. Results have been mixed.

What are some key highlights of your teams season so far?

We have retained a few players from last season who have given us a strong base, Melons, Trani, JJ, Hugo and Billy as examples. The addition of youngsters Coops, LJ and Ton has been promising. Others such as GBT, Harry Boyd, Walshy and Besty have made a good tradition from junior to 19s footy.

What has been the highlight for you as coach of your team so far this season?

A one point win over Southern Power that involves going coast to coast for a behind in the last minute of the match.

What do you see as the biggest challenge for your team going into the second half of the season?

Consistency. We need to get to training and rack up good sessions tif we are to play at our full potential and reach the finals.

What does success look like for your team?

A strong effort by all players across all positions, playing our role and sticking to the team’s plan.

What are some key games coming up in the second half of the season for your team?

We start the second half of the season with a match against North Shore and must put in a better effort than the last time we played them.

Who are some key players within your team to keep an eye on, and why?

Harry Boyd, can score uncanny goals. JJ and Hugo both never give up and set the benchmark for the standards we expect of the team. Billy has been one of our best on several occasions and if he can continue the form he’s shown at times every week it will go a long way to us winning. Coops had a nasty injury a few weeks back that’s kept him out 5 weeks so we hope he’ll return soon.
