Growthbuilt Sydney Uni Australian National Football Club have agreed to release Brandon Jack from his football duties with the club for the 2018 season. Jack has stepped down from state-league football after not being able to commit fully to the requirements, as he pursues a career outside of the game.
After finishing up with the Swans last year Brandon has made his focus chasing a music career with his band the ‘The Vitriots’ which requires his focus (along with his studies) and most weekends.
Brandon said: “Unfortunately I am unable to fulfil my commitments to the football club this year. Due to the increase in other commitments in my life I can’t give the level of dedication necessary…The club has been very understanding throughout the entire process which I am extremely appreciative of.”
SUANFC President Sam Power said: “As a key signing we had identified to hopefully be an integral part of our NEAFL programme we are naturally disappointed to lose Brandon’s services but we completely understand his circumstances. Our NEAFL programme is a step down from the AFL system but it requires a very significant commitment of time and energy so it will not always be a fit for even the most talented of Sydney based players, depending on their personal circumstances. Brandon now has the opportunity to play some football locally in the AFL Sydney Premier Division competition for the UNSW/ES Bulldogs. SUANFC wish him the best of luck in his musical pursuits, studies, and with his time at the Bulldogs.”
