U19 Div 1

Across the Grades: AFL Sydney

Three rounds have passed and The Students have enjoyed strong starts across the grades, highlighted by ladder-leading performances by Premier Division, Premier Division Reserves, Blues and Colts.

Premier Division:

Results so far: WWW (St George, Camden & UTS).

The Prems have gotten off to a strong start this season, enjoying comfortable wins against St George, Camden and UTS. With a number of tough games in the coming weeks against the likes of Manly, UNSW/ES and North Shore, we’ll quickly learn where we stand amongst the pack.

Premier Division Reserves:

Results so far: WWW (St George, Camden & UTS).

Enjoying a similar start to Premier Division, the reserves have won each of their first 3 games. With a largely similar side to last year, and early season form looking promising, the Pressies are a another good chance of featuring in September.

Colts Div 1:

Results so far: WWW (St George, UNSW/ES & Pennant Hills).

The Colts have been the surprise of the first few rounds, enjoying wins over historically strong sides in St George, reigning premiers UNSW/ES and Pennant Hills. Laying a strong foundation for the remaining games, the Colts will be one to watch in the coming months.

Blues:

Results so far: WWW (Wollondilly, Nor-West & UTS).

The Blues have backed up 2018 form, with a solid start to the season. Jim Beard returned in the offseason to take the reigns of last year’s surprise performer, and with a match up against reigning premiers Pennant Hills this weekend, The Students will be looking to put on a strong show under lights at No.1.

Reds:

Results so far: WLW (St George, Camden & UTS).

Despite a close loss in Round 2, the Reds, under player-coach Jarryd Boyd have started strongly. With a number of key players still to return, the Reds will be looking to put in some strong performances across May to climb the ladder.

Golds:

Results so far: LLL (Camden, North Shore & Pennant Hills).

It’s been a rough start to the season for the Golds, with the majority of last season’s premiership side hanging up the boots and going their separate ways. As the season goes along, we suspect our new Students will make themselves comfortable and start getting the results they deserve!

Colts Div 2:

Results so far: WWL (Southern Power, South West & UNSW/ES).

The Club’s newest side have started 2019 in consistent fashion, showing drastic signs of improvements compared with 2018. Under coach Jon Dyster, the Colts Div 2 have enjoyed their introduction to the Club in the early part of the season, and will continue to build on some great performances so far!
