Riley Lucas Wins AFL Sydney Round 5 Rising Star Nomination

By AFL Sydney Media

Name:  Riley Lucas

Nickname:  Rizz

AFL Sydney Club:  Sydney University

Position:  Wing/Half-Forward

Junior Club:  Drummoyne Power

Favourite activity to do outside of football:    Basketball and hanging with friends

What is one thing that we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club? Well-known for not having much to say

What role do they play for the club both on and off the field?   On-field – does his best to fit into team structures to ensure the team plays the best it can. Off-field – help out around the Club, either in the canteen or running water for the Reserves and Colts

The night before the game what will they most likely be doing?  Watching the Friday-night AFL with a few mates

Do they have any pre-game superstitions?   Put my left boot on before my right

Reason for nomination this round:  Riley has played four games this season, kicking 4 goals and named in the best against the East Coast Eagles. On the weekend, Riley stood tall in a tough defeat, playing his role and once again, putting in a great performance.

Coach quote on Performance:

“Riley is putting together an excellent first season of senior football. Using his height and athleticism to great effect. He reads the ball well and is very good by foot. Great for Growthbuilt SUANFC to have another former Colt graduate to senior football in 2018” – Tony Overall.
