NEAFL vs GWS Giants @ Blacktown International Sports Park, Blacktown
“Another even team effort. Very good first and final quarter but need to be more consistent. An improvement from last week which is our aim at the moment. If we can play 4 good quarters of football we will be hard to beat.” – Tom Morrison.
Final Score: SUANFC 20.8 128 def. GWS Giants 12.13 85
Premier Division vs North Shore @ Mortgage Choice Oval, St Leonards
“Played in patches and cost us in the end as they scored in bunches when we lapsed on physical pressure around the contest. Good final term saw us close within 2 goals but couldn’t get good enough connection to really push hard for a win. I walk away impressed with my group. They were good. But we will close that gap.” – Tony Overall.

Blues vs Western Magic @ No.1 Oval, Sydney University
“Blues were behind all day. Ended 2 points up. Blacktown kicked the first 4 goals in as many minutes. We stuck to our game plan and in the end the better team prevailed. We deserved the win. Our pressure and attack on the footy proved too strong. We wore then down all day and in the end broke their spirit and determination. Couldn’t of asked more from the boys.” – Daniel Miller.
Final Score: SUANFC 7.13 55 def. Western Magic 8.5 53
Colts vs Western Magic @ No.1 Oval, Sydney University
“Saturdays game saw the Magic travel from Blacktown. On the day they had their problems with some of their team members not showing, so they had the minimum numbers for a match. We played in the spirit of the game so we took off some of our players. From the beginning our young men really switched on. As this was a home game the players used their skills and knowledge of the ground, by using both sides of the oval to our advantage, we were able to switch and use the ball up the corridor by kicking to our forwards who were accurate with their kicks on goal. Sydney University players kept the pressure on through quick hands and the run. Great efforts from all the team on a day where everyone had a hand in or kicked a goal.” – Greg McDonald.
Final Score: SUANFC 31.26 212 def. Western Magic 1.2 8.
Reds vs Penrith @No.1 Oval, Sydney University
“The effort was huge all day and everyone committed to the contest but we couldn’t match Penrith’s composure and structure. We will get back on the track over the Easter break and go into the UNSW game with a heap of confidence.” – Jim Beard.

Golds vs Southern Power @ No.1 Oval, Sydney University
“We lost the first quarter 18-0 and then were the better team for the rest of the game. Some simple skill errors were the reason we couldn’t close the gap and we’ll have to work hard on that in the week off if we want to win football games.” – Brent Pollock.

Plats vs UNSW/ES @ Henson Park, Marrickville
“Each quarter the boys got better and as a coach at this time of the year, that is all you can ask for. Structure is starting to come together, voice is lifting, tackling & contested footy solid. Plenty of inside 50 entry’s but not enough reward for our efforts. The 1st timers competed well once again, special mention to ‘Sully’ in his 1st game who rucked all day with only 2 rotations out of that position – big effort. Midfield & rovers worked hard the entire game & ran hard to the very end. Backs, one word – SOLID. Things are looking up for the squad. Keep training hard & learning the game lads.” – Greg Nix
