In a tightly contested match on No.1 Oval, Sydney University Premier Division claimed victory over the Inner-West Magpies by 44 points.
The first half saw both sides assert their dominance, with the lead changing hands across the the half.
The Students came out of the halftime break the better of the two sides, kicking 6 goals to 3 in the third quarter, to lead by 22 points at the final break.
A final push from Uni saw another 5 goals added in the final quarter, with Damien Bonney, Sam Gilfedder and Jack Fox all finishing with 3 goals each.
Sydney Uni’s midfield star David ‘DJ’ Johnson was awarded the Students’ best-on-ground medal in honour of Peter Ramus, while the Inner-West recipient was key defender Patrick Wilmot.
Saturday’s win over Inner-West sees the Peter Ramus Cup remain with the Students until it’s once again contested next season at Picken Oval.
