Students vs Swans: AFL Curtain Raiser

This afternoon will see the Students grace the SCG for the only time this season, as they take on the undefeated Sydney Swans at 4pm.

The Students’ NEAFL side have enjoyed a strong start to the 2016 season, winning 5 of their 7 games to sit 4th on the ladder.

SUANFC has made just the 1 change to the team that traveled to Southport last week, with experienced defender Aaron Day replacing Nick Foster

The first-place Swans are yet to lose a game, and have named 19 AFL-listed players to take on the Students.

2015 NEAFL MVP winner, and Students Co-Captain, Tom Young spoke with NEAFL TV about the Swans and the threat they pose this afternoon.

“They are a quality team. I think they are similar to us in that they have a really good spread, they probably don’t have too many guys they have to rely on,” he said.

“Their structures are really sound, and their pressure is through the roof, so I think it’s going to be a really good game for us to see where we are at.”

When these two sides met at the SCG in Round 12 last season, it was the Students who took home the 4 points, winning comfortably by 75 points.

Following the Students/Swans is another 1st vs 4th clash, between the Swans and unbeaten North Melbourne outfit.

Students’ fans who can’t make it to the SCG this afternoon can watch NEAFL TV’s Live Stream available from 4pm.
