In 2018, SUANFC will be debuting a new team – but hopefully one full of very familiar faces. We have registered to compete in the new look Sydney AFL Masters competition, which is being administered wholly by Sydney AFL and will feature a seven round season which culminates in a Grand Final.
With games starting in mid-April and scheduled every fortnight, it provides the perfect opportunity for those who are still keen for a kick but don’t have the time (or energy!) to commit to a full season to pull on the blue and gold once more.
The league is aimed at players 40 years of age and older, however there is a provision for a limited number of 35-39 year olds (three on field at any time) to participate as well.
Registration for the Masters team will cost $225 (or $200 for Supporter Members) and will include SUSF and AFL registration, apparel, equipment and physios on game day. Whilst there won’t be formal training sessions, players will be welcome to train on Monday and Wednesday evenings with the remainder of the club.
