Chris Goodrope Announced as New SUANFC General Manager

SUANFC is pleased to announce Chris Goodrope as the Club’s new General Manager, replacing the outgoing Tristan Liles who has been promoted within Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness to the position of High Performance Manager where he will now have oversight of all SUSF’s elite programs.

Originally from Melbourne, Goodrope has worked for the past 5 years with the Sydney Swans Academy as Talent ID and Programs Manager, where he was responsible for identifying the best young talent in Sydney, while developing programs and systems to help nurture and grow the Swans Academy, along with its members and staff.

Prior to this, Goodrope held the role of State Development & Operations Manager at Cycling Victoria where he introduced significant development programs, increased junior participation levels and identified 5 Victorian State Team members.

Goodrope also spent time with the Northern Knights TAC Cup side as recruiting coordinator in 2010/11 after a year working with the Melbourne Football Club in their membership department.

In his time with the Northern Knights, Goodrope saw 6 players drafted out of the Knights’ football program, including the likes of Josh Caddy, Billy Longer, Jack Newnes and Dylan Buckley.

“I’m really excited about joining the SUANFC as General Manager. SUANFC has a rich history and fantastic people involved” said Goodrope.

“In the end the opportunity to work with a Club that has developed such a good reputation was too good to refuse”.

“I look forward to meeting all the football staff and forming strong relationships and building on the hard work and foundations that have already been put in place. Lets have a big 2017 season.”

SUANFC President Chas Wilkinson spoke of his excitement appointing Goodrope as the Club’s new General Manager.

“We are delighted Chris is joining us in the pivotal GM position. He came to the process highly recommended and it was clear to us he is an accomplished football person and experienced sport administrator with the passion and skills required for the role” said Wilkinson.

Chris will commence his role with the Club on January 9.
