Liz Hawtin Honoured with SUSF Gold at 2023 Blue and Gold Awards Night

The Sydney University Australian National Football Club (SUANFC) is delighted to announce that Liz Hawtin, a long-standing and invaluable volunteer, has been awarded the prestigious Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness (SUSF) Gold at the 2023 SUSF Blue and Gold Awards Night.

This honour is bestowed upon individuals who make an outstanding contribution to their club in a volunteer capacity, and Liz’s dedication to SUANFC makes her a fitting recipient.

Since joining SUANFC in 2011, when her sons began playing, Liz has been the cornerstone of support and commitment for the club. Over the past 13 years, she has served as the team manager for the Men’s Premiers & Reserves, a role that has seen her become an integral part of the team’s success both on and off the field.

Liz’s contributions extend far beyond team management. She has worked closely with every General Manager to ensure smooth game day operations at Oval 1. Her attention to detail and organisational skills have been instrumental in preparing for the season, including the assembling of kits for all teams.

In 2018 and 2019, Liz took on the responsibility of running the canteen, adding another layer to her extensive involvement with the club. Her efforts were recognised in 2017 when she was honoured with the Cec & Bunty Club Champion award.

What truly sets Liz apart is her willingness to go above and beyond in assisting with any tasks necessary for game days across all teams, as well as her vital role in club functions. Her dedication and selflessness embody the spirit of volunteerism and community that are at the heart of SUANFC.

“Liz Hawtin’s commitment to SUANFC over the years has been nothing short of remarkable,” said the clubs General Manager, Dani Paszkiewicz. “Her tireless efforts and passion for the club have been instrumental in our success. The SUSF Gold is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and dedication.”

As SUANFC continues to grow and thrive, Liz Hawtin’s contributions remain a shining example of the impact that dedicated volunteers can have on a sporting community. Her SUSF Gold award is a testament to her unwavering commitment and outstanding contribution to the club.
