SUANFC Mens Division 2 team are 2020 Premiers!!

It was a big day out at Rosedale Oval last Sunday for the Mens Division 2 Grand Final- the Students were ready and raring to go and knew what they had to do to bring that Premiership home!

The Mens Division 2 team took on a strong North Shore team who went in as Minor Premiers with only one loss throughout the season. With North Shore going into the match as favourites, the Students had an extra level of motivation to show their best football on the field. North Shore took the first goal of the game with a strong start, but it was short lived with that being the only goal North Shore would score that quarter. With that, the Students came in strong with three goals in the first quarter, establishing an early lead that they maintained the whole way through the game. Under Coach Adam Birman, the Uni players remained calm and pushed to the end, making it a very convincing win of 11.6-72 to North Shore 4.4-28.

The Mens Division Two team had a great run all season, dropping only 2 games, but in the moment that counted the most, the Students rose and put on their best performance of the season! Best on ground was awarded to the extremely deserving Sam Jensen, and there was poor exhilaration in the eyes of Coach Adam Birman and Captain Ewan Spinks when they got to raise the 2020 AFL Sydney Mens Division 2 Premiership Trophy!!

Congratulations to all players, coaches, and volunteers- a well deserved Premiership by the Mens Division 2 Team!
